Howdy all, so as some of you may know I swore to never buy a MiM guitar ever again
but i wanted a SSS Guitar and after many months of searching and compiling (yes there was an Excel Sheet) :grin
this was the only viable option to me for the boxes ticked i needed minus some pet peeves, only thing is I'm not too crazy about the color nor the Pau Ferro chocolate board, but those are esthetic things (cant have everything)
the real deal maker was the price, and yes i know its going to need fret sprout work and a complete setup to be done but it still falls under the budget i was aiming for
shop selling me the Demo for $830 CDN + $20 Shipping
well it's Incoming, get it sometime next week

Yes, but maybe they were better back in da day Ive not had good Luck with MiM

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I actually think they’re better now. Mine came from the factory with issues that would have made @Eagle lose his mind :rofl

Someone used the wrong screws to install the pickguard, and check out this tooling mark on the bridge! I think someone was using a power screw driver and slipped the bit and just decided to ship it that way, haha

They also had some really cheap components. The pickups used to be non-magnetized pole pieces with big ceramic magnets on either side of them. And check out the skinny zinc block it came with!

They cost very little then though. I would have liked to see it new.

@Eagle yeah, I want to say I paid $320 for it. That big gouge on the face of the bridge was there from the factory. And I think someone stripped out a few of the pickguard screws, so they just replaced them with whatever longer screws they could find.

For a long time I actually thought the two pickguard screws closest to the bridge had to be extra long for some reason because that’s how mine were and I’d never seen another, haha

But in spite of its issues I always loved the feel of it and it has been my primary working guitar since the day I brought it home. I love it more than any guitar I’ve ever owned

Congrats on the new guitar! It looks a lot like a Suhr Classic Pro that I have. Mine is Lake Placid Blue. I love the color.

Very happy for you, glad you found what you wanted!

And fret sprout can happen at all price points, it's generally just from low ass humidity. So the secret is to keep your ass wet? I'm not sure

Congrats, and may you love it long time! :chef

Haha! You totally set yourself up for this and jinxed your own dang self, Mike. :rollsafe

Never say never indeed! :rofl

I love my Charvels, but I know you struggled with the Made in Mexico thing
quite a bit. I hope this has an happier ending. :hugitout

If not. It's your fault. :rofl

Congrats!! :beer
