I think I'd be a bit pissed if I owned a QC and was waiting for my guitar plugins to be available on that platform.

On the other hand, this may generate some revenue for NDSP, and thus contribute to keeping the company in business - even angry QC owners would probably like that.

The “Apple” of amp sims hasn’t brought out an ampsim since 2023. After 12-18 months wait they do a vocal plugin…..

Not even digesting and commenting on the vocal plugin, could be amazing or could be terrible I just have no need for it. It’s just baffling how long things are taking on the qc paired with the lack of guitar plugins.

It could very well be that the guitar plugin landscape is saturated and this new line just makes business sense for more potential sales, I get that I just don’t care 🤣.

Mantra looks cool at a glance it’s got some slick guis and all that. Would really need to put it through its paces to really comment on how it performs. Can only assume these vocal modules slowly make their way into the QC or QC successor

TLDR Where’s my Fortin Evil Pumpkin plugin

I liked the QC but I sold mine because I don't trust them when it comes to hardware (yet). But I'd probably buy the Mantra plugin on Black Friday 50% off because it looks fun and easy to use.

Then again, my signature is extremely accurate. Pretty much if everyone hates something I find a way to love it, and vice versa.

Mantra is really cool you should buy it

There you go, off scott free

Another NDSP product I won't buy (just like all their other products). If they continue doing so, I might get rich from all that saved money.

Archetype: Jarick struggling to figure out how to get decent tone in the 2000's

Featuring a Blues Junior, a Crate Vintage Club 30, some mediocre pedals, and a Pod XT Live

Bonus simulator of what I thought was the coolest thing ever, an early Seymour Duncan hybrid pickup that's half JB and half Custom with an alnico 8 magnet!

Archetype: Mikael Dez in the 2000's with a shitty heavy Peavey Bandit 112 from the early 90s and an 80s Kramer Striker his mom's boyfriend gave him. That cheap Floyd Rose was such a pain in the ass.

It makes sense for their target market (bedroom guys with more tattoos than ideas just trying to make 15 seconds worth of something TikTok will like), but there are so many of these AIO things for vocals out there and most of them are always on sale for $30, lol. Even the ad I saw for it after release had the most powerless sounding screaming vocalist and the “engaged” sections were like 6db louder then the “off” sections that most of the comments were “can we hear a level-matched demo” lol. Just seems like they found a way to leverage shit they already had for vocals and here we are.

I’m curious if any effort was put into ensuring the effects were suited specifically for vocals, or if it’s just the blocks they’ve put in the QC/plugins repackaged.

I tried a bunch of this stuff when I first started recording only to find my ideal vocal chain can be had for probably $30 when Waves runs a sale. CLA-76 into CLA-Vocals for tracking, then SSLChannel and Butch Vig Vocals (saturation) when I’m mixing. No pitch correction because :barf
