As of now, I have 4 LAB's and each was between 200-250€.
What got me interested in them over 15 years ago were the parametric mids, and that they're originally a Moog design.
I didn't expect much, but the price was good, so I decided to bite. The rest is history...
One of the funniest moments happened during a jam session with a bunch of touring pros, when someone asked me if he could play through my L5 and after a couple songs I found him lighting the open back of the combo with his cell phone, trying to find out "what kind of tubes it has", because it sounded so good.
When I told him it's a 200€ solid state amp he couldn't believe it.
A large portion of guitar players refuse to acknowledge any speaker that's not a Vintage 30. I can't say that I'm any different but I'm sure I'll get there one day.
I'm constantly wondering about where solid state (non-modeling) amp designs will go in the next 10-20 years. It'd be cool if neo speakers are ubiquitous by then. Also wondering if graphene will be utilized somewhere in these designs. I keep reading about all these different promises related to graphene and energy storage, conductivity and other stuff.. I'm talking out of my ass here but I'd love to see a future where tube amps are made completely obsolete in every way shape and form. Class D has only gotten us so far.

V30s is the speaker we sell the most indeed. However we think that the Creamback sounds very good as well. For certain types of music, it is hard to substitute the V30 because it just fits well with the frequencies it's pushing. Higher gain sounds seem to fit very well with it. But there is so much more out there that deserves attention from not just Celestion but other brands as well!
As for tube amps becoming obsolete, it is possible. Years ago Vox did come up with a type of component that basically mimics the way a tube behaves and although not the same it might be a good starting point.
Hey Donerstone,
why don't you try swapping the Fanes for your two DV Mark neos? This should give you an idea of the weight difference and ballpark sound of neos in your combo. If you like the weight of the neos, but the DV Mark's aren't the sound you are after, you could then try Celestion V types or Neo Creambacks.
