Neck replacement on player Strat?

This player is three years old. Since I have a Telecaster with a thicker neck I am considering a new Stratocaster. But if I do that I want to go either American or Custom shop.

So now I am thinking, why not mod the shit out of this one? Let’s replace the neck for an American neck? Perhaps change the pick ups at some point.

Looking at the prices a new neck would be around seven hundred euro if I go for the most expensive one at Fender. So even if went balls out with new neck and new pick ups I would end up spending around twelve hundred max which is still cheaper than getting an American Strat or custom.

What am I missing because normally I am not this brilliant?

I’d go for a licensed neck from AllParts, Warmouth or Musikraft for considerably cheaper before going for something officially branded as a Fender neck.

AllParts looks to have stepped up their fret game, I’ll be snagging a new neck for one of my Strats from them later this year. Check them out on ebay/reverb, there’s multiple specs available they didn’t offer previously.

wauw 350 for a Strat neck, that is like half of the most expensive fender brand.

I replaced the necks on two of my Fender imports with American Elite ebony board compound radius necks (one Telecaster and one Stratocaster) and couldn't be happier with the results.

Some prefer the American Ultra necks which are a little deeper so that's an option as well.

My total investment in the two upon completion was $1,100 for the Offset and $1,400 for the Tele because I replaced the pickups, controls, and bridge as well.

I spent the morning playing the Pawnshop Offset Special. Still one of my very favorites. It was well worth it for two of the best guitars I've ever played.
