NDSP Quad Cortex

the Morello amp is a pass for me; like the 2203 in the Tim Henson better.
Henson is a 2204, I like it more too but it’s a totally different amp to Morello’s 2205. The 2210 and 2205 are a bit overlooked in plugins, the only other one I know of is Nembrini who have a 2210. It’s a lot more stiff than Morello, not sure if that’s down to their modelling or because it’s a 100W model. Nembrini seemed quite close to my 2210 when I had one

Oh, nice. I know the guy was a fan of the Marshall JMP in the Fractal now that you mention it. Makes me like my 2204 even more now lol.

I got the Darkglass Ultra plugin to have it in my QC, sooo im a bit .. **** about it!

But I get Bea and Mansoor, so that will be fun. Will be cool to have the presets from the Bea X on the QC, with all the cool synth presets :love
And the Glitch and Ringmod will be cool, the ringmod can make some nasty sounds!!

Use of a ring mod with mix turned way down so it was barely audible behind my clean tone was my signature sound on Pod Go. It makes it sound chime-y.

I'm so back.

I really want the Granophyre, but otherwise, not that important.

You're not the only one - a buddy of mine bought a QC exclusively to play his Granophyre tones live, and sold it a couple years later in frustration. He ended up capturing it and playing though a ToneX One

That plugin is great.

Yeap - they'll be available on the QC come CorOS 4.1.0.

I honestly figured this is what they would likely do and why they just stopped talking about PCOM
I knew they wanted Mayer and Misha out and the fact they were done later and also already X made them good candidates

Honestly this is a good thing it’s like pulling off the Bandaid
If they can stop doing PCOM asap it will be to their advantage

Licensing issues with porting plugs over is about as obvious of a stumbling block really as any stumbling block ever. Of course people are going to want paid for their licensed whatever when it gets ported over and used in the hardware.

I used Darkglass Ultra for several years exclusively before jumping to Parallax. The Ultimate update looks awesome, so that’s found money for Ultra owners. Excited for that. Might get me to break back out of using Parallax all the time.

I figured the next FW update would be the motherload plugin dump, so it’s cool to see it confirmed, versus a trickle. The amps are cool, but it’s going to be a massive effects boost with the glitchy/quirky stuff from Misha, and the full multi-voice and synth stuff. I really dug all the Petrucci fx too. Gonna be a really great update for effects. (Hopefully part of the QOL stuff is having plug devices appear in the block lists vs plug lists)

As for the other plugs that are up in air in terms of licensing, the Cali and Granny would be a bummer, but at this point they just need to move on from anything that is going to hold back native dev. There are plenty of non-plug amps and effects they could add that would move the needle way more than anything in those suites.

Bring on the update(s).

I don’t think this has ever really been done though - most modellers aren’t doing fully licenced models in the same way. It’s as much up to the companies to want it to happen and to reach those agreements. The landscape has changed a ton in the last 5 years or so too.

I’d personally rather see proper licensing and officially branded products, even if it means HW gets a reduced choice of options. I like that the original amp creators get something out of it.
