NAD: PRS Archon Classic 50 (6CA7)

It's in the ballpark of the Badlander - pretty quiet at least the unit I have - but it's not as gained up as the Crush on the Badlander, I'd say it's somewhat in between the Crunch and Crush of the Mesa (on the Lead channel)
Wookieee yelled at me about the Crush mode a time or two but I don't find it all that gainy :bag Noise-wise though, BL is :chef and really an example other amp circuits to strive to be in that regard \m/

How's the clean? I really love that Fractal model.
This one's the new model: the Archon Classic 50.

The one in the Fractal's the previous one. I haven't owned it but I liked it when I had my FM3s.

This one's got a pretty nice clean channel though I'm not too much of a clean connoisseur myself.

Zach's demo has it sounding pretty good - the man likes the clean channel a lot:

The Lead channel on this thing is Hot-Rodded Marshall all day long.

Amp doesn't crap out with the Gain (called Volume for some weird, probably academic, reason) dimmed all the way up.

Briefly tested the FX loop - doesn't seem any much noisier than the Lynx or the Badlander. Master volume is before the FX Loop though; both the Lynx and the Badlander have a post FX-Loop Master volume.
Well just may have to try one. Been thinking about it because of the clips but not read much in personal experience.

It's a good all-rounder; crazy good value for the price given what gear costs nowadays.
Wish it would have also had MIDI but it doesn't hold it back.
PRS pulled a good one with the Classic.

Yeah I actually really liked their little Hendrix amp I had but I traded it with a couple of things to a store I worked at for a bit for a guitar and I kinda missed it for a grab and go. This seems more up my alley. Definitely a good price especially used. Think I’ll give one a spin.

BTW Suhr makes a cool little device to switch amps like this via midi. I have one and it works really well.

Thanks for that link to the Suhr switcher! Looks awesome! Will grab one for sure.
