It's pretty cool. Sounds real mean. Unique enough compared to my other amps, so there's no real overlap between them. After replacing the tubes, which fixed some noise issues, think she's a keeper.

Damn, I remember the initial thread at RT on these, I think that’s when Larry first started goin’ off about Fortin stealing his designs. I wasn’t sure if this amp ever actually got made or not. I can’t even remember what it sounds like now!

While I haven't played them, I'm willing to bet it sounds similar to the Randall Thrasher, Satan, and Fortin NATAS. The Evil Pumpkin has more Marshall flavor, though. It's not as saturated or compressed as those others seem to sound in clips.

I haven't tried the Thrasher, Satan or Natas, but the RD50H I had was very dry sounding. Not really saturated at all. I've heard this was the case when my friend owned the Thrasher as well. I also had always assumed Fortin amps were super saturated. Very interesting sounding amps. I've never really looked up the Evil Pumpkin, just seen pics when they came out. I'll have to check it out!

Haven't played any of them but ive heard a Satan miked up live at a show and it sounded killer.

I thought the same thing from the clips ive heard on the EP about the lack of saturation but owners say that isn't the case.

It's not as "wet" sounding or saturated as 5150 III 6L6, but it's not as dry as something like a Fryette.

How well does it take a big boost pedal?

Mine tends to feed back with boosts (OD808 and Airis Mid Screamer). But I haven't really messed with it too much yet. I might just be too close to the cab in my small room. Will need to get the amp to a different space before making final judgement. That said, none of my other amps feed back...
