Each year I buy a couple new pairs of cargo pants and turn the previous year's pairs into shorts. They're perfect for working on the roofs at work because my legs don't burn to shit and I still have all the pockets on them (partially why they're so long) for handfuls of wirenuts and 10 extra 3/8's sockets because those just dissappear on roofs. And my balls get plenty of ventilation.

And they're great at the dog park, especially now that the bugs are out in force after 6PM.

I rocked that right up until it started getting caught on stuff at work, like when I was climbing through a roof hatch and it got caught on the handle and almost pulled me right back down the hatch to a 25ā€™ drop onto a cement floor. :rofl

I got the regular Docs but have 2 pairs of the black high top Converse at home. One pair is 20 years old and still rockin!
 
@jellodog and @hemmelight, whatā€™s been your favorite way of plugging in so far? I know itā€™s still early and thereā€™s surely more testing fun to be had, but Iā€™ve only played mine jumped so far (and not at all yesterday as I was dying and couldnā€™t even think of plugging a guitar in) and still have all these other glorious tones to dig into!

Honestly, it's too early to say right now; we've only had it for just over a day (with the reactive load). The instrument cable is still jacked into the high treble hole.

I used to like jumping and blending channels on models of Plexis, but I've yet to go there with the real thing because it was sounding great at is. Will probably try jumping this evening (which stars around about now).

And after that, I may see how close to a JTM I can get it to sound with the low inputs. Rounder lower gain EOB / cleans, bright cap out of the mix etc..

Hahahah I get it, I can probably spend another week playing it jumped and not have a desire to check anything else out, though Iā€™m REALLY anxious to get more in the cleaner/Hendrixy tones with this thing. Iā€™ll probably have to pull the jacks out before I sit down to play if I ever want to hear a different sound out of it because once I start playing I know I wonā€™t stop for a while!
 
Lo Input + Crank it up with a Strat = :chef

So many assume the jumped thing is like the combined glory holes, and you can't get
better than that, but there are dozens of ways to use a Plexi and get different results
for different situations with different instruments.

I still love running into 2 of the inputs simultaneously with some kind of a stereo
delay/reverb. Take a tape echo emulating pedal and run out to both channels and
then blend them to taste. It's really what some see as a very basic amp in modern terms,
but there are SO many options that all are equally fun and inspiring, in my experience.

Edit: may have some phase issues using both inputs.... but there are utilitarian devices
that allow you to flip phase if that is the case.

Hahahah I tried that when I got home from work and was still getting a ton of dirt, I didn't have a lot of time before heading to the dog park so I just said screw it and did the normal jumped/dimed thing using my former Shiva Load Box preset (1960TV cab w/ribbon mic) and noodled a bit-



Then it dawned on me at the park, "You probably still have that Hot Mod engaged, dipshit" and yep, it was still on.

I'd be curious to A/B @jellodog's same settings with mine to hear how much that '68 mod (ā€™68 = split cathode, ā€œleadā€ tonestack, soft filtering. Brown) changes things. The volume has to be under 3 for it to not distort on mine.

And something interesting, the SPC/EXG boosts on the Gilmour Strat push this thing from clean into completely distorted, pretty crazy how sensitive that input is!

While it still sounds great, I'm never not going to love the feeling of muting the strings and giving them a good whack with the pick when it's cranked through a cab. That alone was enough to bring a smile to my face.

Hahahah I haven't spent nearly enough time with this amp to have learned it, I had maybe an hour or so of play time on Saturday and then yesterday was spent violently expelling all contents of my stomach, including every sip of water I prayed would stay down, as I laid on the couch and tried not not to move an inch.

Definitely going to take advantage of the cabs/scenes with these load box presets, the pickups and speakers are the main points of changing tones with this thing. Naturally, the Tchula in front of it when it's clean sounds glorious and I'm digging the PastFX Tube Driver for lead stuff without sounding like I'm trying to rip off EJ. And big surprise here, the Dry Bell Vibe got me lost for a good 45 minutes in noodle land.
