Music listening/streaming devices that aren’t a phone

It's important to note that if it's not a phone, it won't be able to stream. At least not if you're off WiFi. Streaming requires an active network connection.

So is that he wants a non-phone streaming device (so he can listen to Spotify or Amazon Music or whatever), or a device that can play music without a streaming music subscription (so he can listen to MP3s and FLACs and such)?

Exactly. I wasn’t sure if there’s some kind of device that can connect to Wifi and play music. The whole getting the music on the device would be another hurdle so I’m starting to lean more towards giving him an iPhone.

used ipod touch :rofl

That is, if spotify and the like even work on those anymore lol

My uncle was asking me last night what he can use to listen to music that isn’t his phone. Let’s pretend for this discussion that phones and subscriptions don’t exist, as he can be a bit of a “I hate technology!” type and already shot down my advice to download Spotify on his phone. :rofl

Last thing I knew of was the iPod, is there anything else out there?
"no subscription" - is he going to be using his own files? That doesn't seem to jive with "I hate technology".

Roll like it’s 1982.

Just get him a boombox

These days most of them even have a USB input - get a flash drive and load it the fuck up with music for him
