Those BadCats are two channel amps as they have two channels. And the older Hot Cats were Vox voiced clean but with EL34s and higher gain Marshall voiced lead channel. Like a 6 hole Vox is a 3 channel amp or a Bassman/JTM45/Super Lead/DR103 are also two channel amps. But they’re not channel switchers and I think that’s the issue of nomenclature that’s being had here.
And to be frank there’s very few Vox inspired Chanel switchers out there save for the AC50CPH and AC100CPH that Billy mentioned and the Orange AD30TC. Maybe the OR30 also? I’d also add the Mesa Transatlantic in there but that’s Vox tones on one side and Tweed/Marshall style on the other. The Friedman JJ of course has a Vox voiced clean as has been mentioned. Not sure why they aren’t more channel switching style Vox amps in the wild but maybe it’s part of the topology of that circuit and that so much of what makes those amps desirable is their dynamics and ability to go clean to mean via riding your volume. They’re not high headroom preamps in those circuits and there’s a lot of interaction between the pre and power sections of those amps. Maybe Vox purists would balk at changes to that. I don’t know. What I do know is that my older Black Cat 30 head scratches my Vox itch well and that’s all I need there. To each their own
