JD is a really good player. His tone is very nice as well.
Yeah! I saw him a while back, before Covid, he wasn't quite in this phase he's in now but had moved past the Marshall stacks/Cream worship stuff some...I really dig the current vibe he's got the most.
 
I just took up slide this last year because i was most recently deeply moved by Ariel Posen and Dylan Adams. However I realized I’ll never have the focus to play like the new folks, so I’ve been listening to the generation prior to Derek Trucks for my lessons and inspiration for what I can actually achieve.

When I get so arthritic I can barely bend my fingers, let alone strings on a guitar
I am going all in on Slide. Until then I am bending them while I can---both fingers
and strings. :beer

Sonny is a monster---with a totally unique technique and approach. :chef
