is this the sound of high voltage on the 12AX7s or low voltage? what gain stage is the primary contributor to the buzz sound? it's the SLO / Dual Rectifier buzz before either of those amps existed.

in this Marshall head or a Rectifier or SLO there's 4 or 5 12AX7s. But my V-Twin rack only has two 12AX7s and it nails the same buzz tone perfectly like a 1u rev G

Hahahah my initial thought was “An SM57 is likely responsible for that buzz more than anything else”

The "buzz" in the first video is coming from the alnico creams Reza insists on using in his 4x12", sounds like garbage always with high gain.

Yeah with Reza you always have to imagine the tone without the top end cooking like a pan of bacon. It’s kind of his thing. :ROFLMAO:

As others said, Reza's "tone" is heavily colored by those Alnico Creamback speakers.

Morin amps don't particularly have a lot in common with Mesas tonally other than both being high gain cold clipper deals. The Rectifier is based on an SLO circuit (4 gain stages, 39k cold clipper, cathode follower tone stack) which originated as a heavily modified Marshall 2203 (3 gain stages, 10k cold clipper, cathode follower tone stack).

Morin amps are also Marshall-derived circuits with 4 gain stages and a 5-10k cold clipper. The power section is traditional Marshall with extra filtering, so none of the huge low end that you get from a Rectifier in modern mode. The cold clipper in these amps (and most modern high gain circuits) give a fuzzy, asymmetrical texture to the distortion.

Can't stand that dude's videos/clips. They all sound like a Metal Zone straight into a computer and I'm starting to wonder if all the people who gush over how amazing they sound are just in on a big inside joke. I can't believe amp companies send him amps to demo for press.
