Meta wants to fill Platforms with AI-generated users

When social media is already riddled with bots, AI users won't change a thing. Meta has been for years doing increasing enshittification when all they had to do was nothing. FB was great sometime in around maybe 2007 or so, as you connected with friends and could follow their boring food pics and whatnot, but that was still way better than the endless flood of advertisements. Then FB stopped making the feed chronological, started adding "sponsored posts" to pester you instead of sidebar ads etc.

I used Revanced Patcher to remove ads on the Android version of Instagram and YT, and it's funny scrolling Instagram and not seeing like every 3rd post be an ad. It's gotten ridiculous and will be the eventual death of these platforms.

A lot of what I see coming out of FB the last 10 yrs, not just with ads/bots but with other dubious platform activities, it just validates that I made a good decision by leaving long ago. It's a data harvesting site. Your life is consumed and info sold.

I'm about ready to abandon FB on account of my password getting hacked every 2 fucking weeks
Like Laxu said, password manager. Change your FB password and your email password, turn on 2FA on them both. Also get your recovery codes for both of them - write them down on a piece of paper! If using app authenticator for 2FA, like Authy, also write down its backup codes.
Scan your devices with Malwarebytes. It's free.

Social media is filled with so many bots now
For Facebook go to "Feeds" select "Friends", now you got a feed of only real people.

What's crazy is they could have rolled this out, not told anyone, and no one would have known.

Zuckerberg and his cyber weirdness ....

To me, not being on any of the major platforms is a huge benefit with no downside. They can fill those sites with any AI bubble garbage they like, as far as I'm concerned.

Not really.

Another example would be nuclear technology. We didn’t pursue splitting the atom for profits or to provide safe, clean energy to humanity. We were chasing the creation of a bomb to incinerate entire cities. Power plants were an afterthought.

The real kicker is coming to the realization that social media is just another technological advancement that we opted to weaponize and monetize instead of cultivate for the betterment of ourselves and those around us.
I think the whole of users see it/saw it that way. But there will always be an active yet very small percentage of the populace with mal-intent. Unfortunately a significant portion of that small percentage have placed themselves in crucial areas of society where certain goals take center stage.
