I really liked it.
At first I was a bit hesitant about your mic placing method, but your results show that you obviously nailed it.
I appreciate that you clearly mark where your speculating and lay out your evidence for the viewer.
You present reliable data and I highly appreciate that. So refreshing amongst all the clickbaity myth-mongering.

Interesting video.

However, I found it very difficult to follow because of the background music. My ears want to focus on that and then your voice becomes harder to track. I'd recommend leaving out any background music or using bg music without vocals.

I also felt like I could have used some sort of text overlay summary about the mic differences because I got lost which was which.

I have two that have the silver inside ring and the Lo Z with strikethrough.

The reasons the SM57 is ubiquitous in regards to recording electric guitar is:

1) ability to handle high SPLs
2) a 6KHz spike in freq response ("bite") which fits perfectly with electric guitar

3) built like a brick shithouse

I've got a pair of early 2K Mexico-made (I assume) SM57s.

I haven't recorded a guitar tone with a mic in a long time, but my SM57 & BETA 57 are ready to go when its time, and cannot be topped in performance/sound.
