I’m sure this probably won’t resonate with most of the forum…. But holy shit. This is probably the most crushing music news I’ve heard in recent memory. Legitimately has made me tear up
There’s not a lot of bands whos drummer leavjng would upset me, but Myers is legitimately a powerhouse that cant really be replaced

When Kris has his shoulder surgery a while back there was a whole lineup of drummers filling in on their tour. Rory from lespecial was probably the closest but still not hitting it the same. Portnoy’s NYE set was pretty great, he’s honestly one of the few drummers in existence that could live up to Kris
Danny Carey did sit in with UM during tool in the sand for a king crimson over, that would be a cool replacement but I don’t see it realistically happening
The official posts were very friendly but I also do wonder if behind the scenes things weren’t so positive. Seems very strange for a critical multi decade member to leave a band with no fairwell pomp and circumstance
Anyway. Very sad. At least both Kris’ Final NYE run + red rocks show was in CO and I was in attendance
