JVM Problem

I've been trying to play around with my JVM 410 OD1 channel and I can't get it as loud as I want with out extreme feedback. I watched a demo video showing how to get the sound I want but when I try to set up the same way it's too much feedback to play. I would think that I'd be able to crank it up tp 10 if I wanted to but I can't get past 3 before it's not usable. I've tried all PRS and Gibson guitars that I own and all the same.

I've attached photo of the video demo with nob settings I'm trying to use. At those settings it's a no go for me.

Any ideas?

Does the amp feedback with guitar volume at 0?
If not then you have too much gain and/or too much volume and/or too close to the amp.

No feedback at zero volume. I can control it with volume of guitar. I've tried as far as maybe 10 feet from amp, so I think that's a good distance.

What bothers my is the demo video I watched had the amp settings higher and no feedback.

I never ran either OD channel above about 3 when I had my JVM. Found anything more than that completely useless and noisy. I would guess that what James said about a load box, and suggest maybe they had a gate engaged to get that much gain without feedback.

Do you think a gate would help? I have a Boss NS-1X coming that I was planning on using anyways.
