I’m interested to see how 12 stacks up.
I went from Ozone 11 Advanced to 12 Advanced just today. I don't want to tout it just yet, I'll take my time with it and report back.
Obviously, I haven't even scratched the surface- but here's why I decided to upgrade to it:
There's an interesting bass control module with good visual feedback. I tried it on a couple of tracks, and thought it got rid of a little mud (the tracks didn't start out all that muddy, so it was subtle).
Also there's Stem EQ, which should be a helper when I deliver tracks to other audio post facilities or video editors - I always deliver stems, so it should be a nice feature for my work.
You can specify what you want the AI to focus on and do in greater detail, customize lots of details, etc. Settings can be saved, and favorite tracks can be used as genre examples. I have yet to do more than take a look at this.
Unlimiter should be helpful for tracks that sometimes come from outside studios and musicians who might be guilty or over-compressing or over-limiting what they send me. Again, I looked at it but haven't yet tried it.
These are all new bits and pieces.
The thing about Ozone is that so far, I use it mainly as a reality check. But things like clarifying low end, stem EQ, and so on might make it more of a final workflow tool. That would be great, so I'm hoping I find it an everyday thing.
One thing I like about iZotope products is that I can depend on the software being high quality.
So I also have advanced versions of Neutron 5, RX 11, and Nectar where advanced versions exist (I don't remember offhand). Nectar is handy for VOs and dialog as well as singers). I have their reverbs, delays and a few other doodads they make. Nothing has been suboptimal, I've always felt I got my money's worth.
