I just got this prototype soldered up. It seems that I excluded a component in the design so I added it between the switch board and the effect board.

Man, this is a great low to mid gain drive. I kind of never liked Tube Screamers but this circuit is fantastic. The Fat control is really useful.

I’ll drill out the enclosure sometime soon.

Who do you use to print your PCBs?

Nice !! So can confirm that is indeed a TS circuit?

I’ve heard a lot of back and forth on that. I really loved the blue note I had but didn’t particularly get TS vibes from it

You’re right, it doesn’t have that TS vibe. Lower gain with crispier highs that you can balance with the Fat control. I actually really dig this circuit.

Component/circuit wise is it mostly a TS though? This question has been on my mind for years without many clear answers lol

Ehh, the similarity is in the JRC4558D chip and the soft clipping scheme. There are similarities but the circuits are different.

The Blue Note doesn’t even use the second half of the dual op amp. I used it as a buffer in my design (almost certainly unnecessary but It was there).
