Is there anything such as AIR captures?

Imagine an amp and an FRFR (assume like it's actually full range and actually flat) 10-15 feet away side by side. Is there any captures that aim to make the FRFR and the amp sound the same to you instead of capturing what a mic captures close to the speaker and play that through the FRFR?

Aim to? Yes

Hit the mark? Pretty close, at least the ones I've made and played back in the same room they were captured in. I'm overall very happy with how my 2x12 Greenback IR turned out.

Even if you had an IR or cab simulation that perfectly replicated only the speaker itself, the FRFR cab, its dispersion pattern etc would make it sound different from what you hear in the room from the real guitar cab.

The moment you stop thinking of how to replicate the amp in the room experience, and treat miced cabs as just a different facet of all that, you will be happier. If I pipe my Fractal AM4 through cab sims my studio monitors, or direct into my BluGuitar Amp 1's poweramp and BluGuitar Fatcab 1x12 under my desk, I get two different sounds but not really a "this is better, this is worse" situation.

Whenever someone is chasing the “amp in the room” tone, the big question they should probably ask is: “Why am I doing this?”

Every guitar tone you’ve lusted after has almost certainly been a recording.
