Is there any realistic reason for all electric guitar necks not to be made out of roasted maple?

This is an instrument designed to be thrown in an unheated trailer for days on end. I had an EBMM Valentine that weathered some cold nights in my trunk with barely any adjustment needed afterwards. The stuff is a miracle.

I do love the feel and smell of roasted maple. Hard maple in general is very stable. I guess it all depends what kind of climate you live in and your playing habits.

2 "realistic" reasons. It adds expense, and it's not needed for a quality neck.

It's an option like SS frets. I'm fine with regular maple, but won't buy a guitar without SS frets.

That said, if I was still building partscasters, I'd get one to try out.

It strips and cracks substantially easier than regular maple. It’s also not as inert as you would be led to believe. A perfect example of quarter sawn regular maple with carbon reinforcements is probably the best option from a engineering perspective but roasting is good for tone too.

The OP question doesn't address the meaning of life. The Fundamental Question is:

Is there any realistic reason for all electric guitar necks not to be scalloped?

Having formulated that premise, here is some roasted porn:
