Since im not using modelers or advanced stuff anymore, im just feeling and listening to how things turn out...

i have the first pedal around 400ms and the other pedal slower, maybe around 1 sec i dont really know.
But the thing is, when i pluck a note fast theres two obvious repeats, then four, then many and they seem "in sync" but mulitply. Its nice...

Have i unintendedly set both pedals to create a 1/4 rhythm or whatever it may be called?

ive been thinking about recording clips.... since August 2024... so im working on it. My pace is like a snail. Ive been "building" my board since last summer :rofl i will get to the creative part sometime.

I was just imagining that I somehow unintentionally tuned them in to quarters or dotted or triplets or whatever everything is called on a delay pedal with those options. But maybe it’s another ballgame when using two delays and one affects the other.

Either way, just a slight tweak of the second (slower one) always ends up with something different. As of now I use that second delay to find different rhythms in the repeats. The first shorter delay is fixed, I need it to be exactly where it is now, about 400ms I think.
 
Some weird stereo effects to be explored for sure. Some Dual Delay pedals can do it too.

Put a shimmer reverb between them or something outlandish like an EQD Transmisser.

I have a Meris Polymoon (the manual tells me it has "unique feedback topology") and Mercury 7, and a Strymon Timeline (and Volante). All sorts of weirdness and occasional glorious sounds can be produced but I can never remember the good settings amid all the choices.

And when sober I rarely enjoy plucking a string or two and sitting back to grok the mind-blowing FX. Used sparingly and placed in a musical context it may enhance an actual tune or riff, but I'm still finding out how to make that happen with Loopers, not recording.
 
Try a short time with low feedback delay into a long time with high feedback delay. Try different mix settings on each.

That seems to be the basic starting point from my online search. I need to explore the "modulation matrix" of the Polymoon feedback options.
 
I think many dual pedals call this rhythmic subdivision.
The Strymon DIG is a nice pedal for everything like this, that a dual delay can offer.
325/825 is my bag - but that is not rhythmic - just spacey.
Third head of a Copycat and an Echoplex EP3 on longest delay - is a lovely mix. 341/1000.
If I want interesting side-melodies playing, I’d use a dual voice intelligent harmoniser, and single-repeat delay the harmonies in that. (Digitech IPS-33B) But that is usually synched to tempo. Usually 500/1000, a third and a fifth. Then add delay to everything, and reverb.

When recording your masterpieces - Important to bear in mind that a nicely-phrased solo flown in to a piece from a totally different song and tempo - can sound wonderful, and free. Adding non-tempo delays and reverb to it, makes it even freer.
