Is anyone else bothered by the amount of "dead space" on an expression pedal when used with the DL4 mkii?

Theres a few reasons I gave the DL4 mkii a chance but that absolute main reason was because I was looking for a delay pedal that would let an expression pedal accurately track the travel of parameters (time, feedback/repeats) on a delay effect as you went from heel to toe on the exp pedal. I wanted this so to create that insane spaceship warping sound that happens when you manipulate parameters while a signal is going thru the delay. I fking luv that sound, I figured the dl4 was a great tool for being able to have at least 6 dif presets of dif delays with their own different parameters being assigned to the exp pedal giving me 6 different delay insane noise machines. BUT MY ISSUE IS THE PEDAL HAS NO SENSITIVITY it literally feels like I put my foot half way down on the pedal before I begin to hear a manipulated delay sound and by that time I only have such a small amount of space on the exp pedal to manipulate the sound. I saw a video of a guy using an exp pedal with a boss 2mw delay pedal and he for sure had the capabilities of full range delay manipulation with his exp pedal, thTs what I want. 8 feel like it's dumb to have a dl4 and another delay oedal

You need to use an expression pedal compatible with Line6 which uses a TS cable for starters...
