incoming new monitor day!

heee.... so ive been looking for these for thirty years and i FINALLY found a set.. not that theyre super rare, but b&w matrix 805s have been on my list since i first recorded in a studio in chicago in 1993!

anyhow- i was looking through craigslist, like one does, and i saw this ad that said 'high quality vinyls stereo system' i looked at the picture, and nothing else really looks like these. so i opened the ad.

a rega planar 2 turntable, these speakers, and an NAD integrated amp. $599.

well.. having used em for recording... i knew how good they were in 1993.. so being twenty some i went to the local b&w dealer and asked how much they were. they were $1700 in 1993. um... that was equivalent to a years RENT for me at the time. not gonna happen. eventually i bought their little brothers the cdm1se, and used those as my main monitors for a number of years.

nowadays.... 805s cost upwards of $3 grand and the fancy ones are near 5. if all the parts of this stereo rig are split equally... i just paid $200 for them.
