I Pulled The Trigger On A New Black Guitar.

My main issues with Epiphone can’t be fixed.
1. The wood is never what they say it is and incredibly inconsistent.
The fingerboard wood is horrible.
2. The truss rod is the generic tone suck two way that requires no precision to install.
3. The fret size and over bevelled ends , also very soft.
4. The hardware is so soft that the string ball end sometimes sticks in the tailpiece.
5. Thick plasticised finish, durable but garbage in every other consideration.
There are plenty of other things but you can fix a lot of the rest. Shit pickups and electrics can be swapped.
All that in to consideration and I can’t with any honesty recommend Epiphone

Shhh...let them dream, most Epi players hardly even play & buy the play authentic knockoffs that are mostly used for living/bedroom decoration :rofl

(That comment would have cost a ding/banishment with Herbie Da Luv Mod)

That thick finish and plasticky feel is by far my biggest disdain for Epiphone (followed closely by the fretwire). To me the cheapest Gibson LP feels and plays sooo much better even if it looks bare or stripped down. YMMV

Ok Dave , what’s the deal ? Who are you and why all the cheap stuff when you obviously could buy real stuff if you are an actual person. You read like a bot or a satisfied customer in an Amazon review.

Can’t say I share that observation.
Seems to me you are bullying someone who’s gear choices don’t match the smell of a corck..and taking a piss at perfectly fine brands while your at it.
Dave is not a real person . Go and read his stuf it’s nuts but my comment on Epiphone is a fair one based off hundreds of examples.
