Curly cables kill the top end and are garbage by any normal standard. But if you like the tone that’s what matters. Personally I wouldn’t use one.

My working theory is that Curley cable lovers are playing through bright circuits where that drop in top end is desirable? It would drive me nuts.

Yes you’re right but it’s not a good idea unless you only ever use it in that specific situation.

I use a coiled cable at home and I like it because makes everything warmer (very good when playing facing the cab) and is neater.

I never use it on stage, though.
