If I want to run my walrus ACS1 to an audio interface and keep it like that, using headphones on the audio interface instead of the pedal. Should I use the 1/4” out from the pedal to the instrument in on the interface or should I go to the line (mic) in with a 1/4” -> XLR cable. That’s the cable I have… apparently my only instrument cable is the one from the guitar to the pedalboard… (what kind of person I am right…. Stupid…)

But is the 1/4”->mic cable better than going to the instrument in? Ideally I don’t need or want any special sauce or feature the instrument in on an audio interface has as my sound is done when it leaves the ACS1.

Yeah, I would just go into the line input of your interface, not a Hi-Z input.

Thanks!

And if i understand things right, often times with the common smaller interfaces from known brands, the instrument input often has some kind of “extra” feature as a selling point… thinks like: air, 4k, bla bla bla…

I’m going through the mic input and if I understand things right, most of them have a standard mic input that doesn’t really change the tone or character of the signal, right?

Yeah, just trim the input gain to minimal and raise up if needed. (y)
