I invited a musician friend/pal over to our place yesterday to hang with us, because he
has been cut off from his family.

People are shit. Maybe shittier to one another more than any time in the recent past.
We used to have to tolerate a few little differences, and handle some tension and conflict,
all in the name of the "greater good." Now people just shut one another down, sever ties,
and cancel each other. How is that in keeping with the "Spirit" of the Holidays?
