HX Stomp stepping problem

I use my Stomp for live applications and have a whopping three presets, but mainly only use one. I have them set in the first 3 user preset slots so I can tap on switches 1, 2 or 3 to jump to them while playing.

Problem is, if I'm really getting into the song, sometimes I'll go to hit a switch and step on who knows what and it jumps my Stomp to the end of the preset bank - and an empty preset. Or, it's jumped to the next set of presets - also empty.

This, of course, leads to not good things performance-wise.

Thought about just copying those same 3 presets across all the user preset slots, but figured someone on here who actually knows how to use this thing for more than 10% of it's potential might have better solutions.

Thoughts?

TIA

When I used my stomp I almost never used the middle switch and only reserved that for things I knew I had to think about. That way I could just stomp to the side of the pedal and not worry about aim.

You could try using the Command Center to program your left footswitch to toggle down presets and your right footswitch to toggle up presets. Leave the middle footswitch blank. You’ll have to program that for each preset. Another choice is to get a cheap external 2-button footswitch for banking up and down presets.

Is there a preset limit where you can set the presets it is only allowed to toggle through the preset # range you set?
Good thought - will investigate.

That might be the way go. I think what Im doing is hitting two switches at once, so maybe need to see if disabling that functionality is a thing also.

Looked over the manual and pretty convinced Im hitting two switches at once. One of the functionalities is “hit fs1 + fs2” to move to previous bank. And 2/3 to move to next.

Will try to duplicate and then, at least, I should know how to quickly go back. Or, I can just copy/paste my presets to the previous and next banks 😂

You laugh, but I’ve done stuff like that with other small pedals. It’s a life saver in the middle of a gig.
