I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio that has P90s in it. I'd like to change swap them for humbuckers, but I don't even know if they make humbuckers that fit into P90 routed guitars. Do they? And if they do, can you give some recommendations?
I had an LP special and I ordered a P90 sized Super Distortion that sounded awesome in the bridge. Check DiMarzio’s website as they have a couple other options as well.
Another option would be a minihumbucker, Epiphone created them when they wanted to update their P-90 loaded guitars to humbuckers, regular ones wouldn't fit. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini-humbucker
There are a lot of mini-humbuckers from a lot of builders that should fit. They don't sound exactly the same as a full size because the poles are closer, but they get you in the general territory and there is a ton of variation available.
