It does take a lot of patience. I used to get impatient a lot, especially with wiring. But after years of doing it in amps and guitars it's become second nature. Having good tools and proper workspace can make all the difference too.

Fwiw, I never liked the shielding paint anyways. Copper tape seems to be more effective.
Now I've had Fender bodies come with the paint already added which is ok, and sometimes I'll still put tape over that.

Instead of aggressively sanding he could have just dyed the top black. Let the mistake work in your favor.

Hahaha when I got all the shit delivered for my Gilmour Strat I spent a whopping 45 minutes putting the whole thing together. TBF, bridge holes were already drilled and that was the only part I’d have been concerned about fucking up. While I didn’t fuck up the nut cutting, it did take me 3 shots at getting it just right, I was just being too cautious when cutting and not going deep enough.

Drilled the neck screw holes using my couch as support.
