HELP me understand how NAM works…

If you’re okay using your iPhone or computer you can run NAM on your device and route it to work with Helix hardware. I don’t know the latency doing it but I’ve found it functional running my pedalboard into Stomp, then a capture of my amp in NAM via USB and then a Stomp preset with post-FX when I’m playing with headphones.

I know cost is a factor but at that point why not get a ToneX One?

For me personally it’s because my previous IK purchases have left a bad taste in my mouth and I’m not looking for more. Example is the abandoned Tonex iOS/iPadOS app.

Most of the time I’m running something to jam to or exercise audio from computer or iPhone over USB so it’s already connected to my Stomp. Additionally the NAM player I have listens to MIDI over USB so I have channel switching available.

If I was doing anything more that home playing I’d definitely look at hardware though! But that would probably mean a Helix Floor or LT in my case.
