Have we run out of ideas for noiseless single coils??

I have this 'I need to put my hand on the burner' curiosity with the Fishman's, the demos sound great but I feel like I'd be swapping out one flavor of EMG's for another.

Hahahaha I've also been extremely lucky in my apartment, my other Strat has passives in it and it's surprisingly quiet despite a fairly lengthy signal chain in front of a cranked amp, but I bought a Decimator G-String that'll come with me everywhere for when that dirty power shows up.....if I ever play a show again.

Just my opinion. I've gone through a lot of the Dimarzio and Duncan stuff, and they just didn't wow me. I do like the Cruisers though.
I agree with the Duncan stuff, they've been hit or miss for me with much of their selection. I do love the '59 hb. The tele neck stack and parallel axis singles are decently good.

Some of us genuinely like noiseless singles... for their tonal qualities.
I'm definitely no single coil purist, although the Lindy Fralin tele set is pretty dope. :love

The very first guitar pickups were intended to make acoustic guitars loud enough to be heard in a band situation. But the sound they produced was nothing like what the guitar actually sounded like. Then they plugged those pickups into amplifiers that were never meant to be pushed to the point of the tubes distorting…

There are several venues I play where I know it’s not possible to use true single coils.

Absolutely the same experience for me. And it certainly doesn't help that I very often just dial back the guitar volume to get cleanish sounds.

I absolutely do. Once the sound is allowed to be a bit hairy, I often prefer them over single coils.
For me it's basically just the neck pickup where I would sometimes *really* love some real single coil sound for those Nile Rodgers alike cleans.
Wouldn't mind some bits of clean Tele bridge pickup sound here and there, either, but that's not as relevant.
Anything else I don't care much about.

Fwiw, anyone tried these here?

I think I stumbled over them through some Studio Rats video where they sounded excellent.

Not one great clean sound in the video on that side (all drenched in FX). Makes me think that this won't sound tele-ish at all.
Hard to tell from just that vid, but it does sound beefier in the low end. Which is not necessarily a bad thing though.

I still think the original idea to murder them all is the best idea out there. :rollsafe

:rofl

Isn’t the Ilitch tech newer? Also the Bzzkill. And zexcoils?

The Illitch is old enough that I think the patent recently expired. That's a better tech IMHO, and I wonder if we may see more of it now that it's off patent and illitch pricing has gotten out of hand. That's said, how much demand is there? There are a lot of solutions out there already.
