Took my son over to my parents house tonight. It was like a war zone over there, our heads were on a swivel in the front yard watching all of the madness, plenty of huge illegal fireworks, shit on fire. The entire neighborhood was smokey. Wasn't as intense as 2020 but too many for the police to arrest.
I met my wife 16 years ago today.

Fucking hell! I live in a tourist zone redistricted for people with too much $$$ and unending 3 day weekends.
They make the long haul up from Chicago and Detroit to relax in our quiet and wooded Villa, and then disturb the
waterfowl with Jet Skis, the wildlife with ORVs and Thunderdome'd Side by Sides, and the skies with "bombs
bursting in air."
I can't get to Monday fast enough.

Surprisingly, the fireworks weren't as bad as past years, but we had our one dog heavily sedated, just in case.

Not the weekend for it!
There is a good amount of conflict over how best to (ab)use the natural resources. The
same National Scenic Waterway full of Interconnected Tubers hauling coolers full of
Busch Beer and headed for the Mountains is also a world-class Trout River. Yikes! Fly Fishers
and Tubers are so NOT a match-made in Heaven.
Or the nesting Loons and the Jet Skiers. I know which ones I prefer.
Nature is deeply restorative and peaceful. Then humans show up.
Maybe AI actually is better.
