Back in the 00’s my buddy’s band had a string of dates opening for Dickey Betts and when they came up to New England I joined them for a couple shows just to hang out. Andy was playing with Betts on that tour and I was more excited about meeting him than I was Betts just due to all his articles/transcriptions I’d seen for years. Betts just stayed on his bus, like the entire time, but Andy would hang before/after shows. Really fun dude to talk to, very laid back and humorous.

No way! That's awesome.

You have some stories man.

Andy's a legend.... and gave so much to young punks like us.

I remember going for the thrash version of that ad out of a metal magazine, and that was my introduction to Sepultura. I remember feeling like I had entered a different realm of music.

Not sure who all was involved in the effort to track down, archive, and provide all this but this is real work.

I owe my love of guitar to magazines like these that inspired me to continue to learn in an environment that was not at all structured for such a thing.

I’d happily contribute a couple dollars to this effort if there’s a way.

I'd recommend pulling a copy down to your local machine as well. Who's to say they don't look for the content on people's Google drive space and nuke it.

I had subscriptions to GFTPM, Guitar World, Guitar Player, and others. I miss those days.

Me too! I had many years' worth of Guitar Player, Acoustic Guitar, and Mix Magazine, but got rid of them, during a move.

Had to pare down a lot of my belongings, so it would fit in the new living space.

Never again.

I ordered my Carvin X-100 B, when I seen that exactly ad, after my Marshall JCM 800 took a dump back in 1986
The X-100 B was far better than my Marshall.
