Going to see the Cavalera brothers here next week \m/

They're doing Chaos AD in it's entirety (and hopefully a few gems from Arise and Beneath the Remains?) :satan :love :satan

Fear Factory and Byzantine opening up so it should be jamming!
Have fun dude….

Sounds like fun evening to me.

Next month Im seeing Disturbed ( my brother wants to see them)

Either way should be a great evening.

This is really, really, good. And Max is in surprisingly good shape.

Yeah it's gonna rip \m/

Igor has never lost a step and Max really only 'loses a step' if you start docking him for nu metal leanings. Which I am sure you do :ROFLMAO: But understandably so! Igor keeps him honest and he has good players in the other roles as well. This is hyprocritical to my Fricker post in the other thread but you are never going to convince me that having Paulo (and Andreas, for that matter) does ANYTHING to make Sepultura good in the Cavalera's absence compared to just, you know; having the Cavalera brothers there :satan

Well, you know me... ;) I greatly prefer the headbanging Max of the video above over losing-a-step-while-jumping-da-fuck-up Max.

I agree that Paulo seems pretty redundant, but Andreas certainly influenced the sound and style of Sepultura with his slightly disharmonic approach. But Max and Igor are the heart and soul of Sepultura, undeniably. The first Cavalera Conspiracy album was an absolute banger, to me that was a proper Sepultura reunion album. It's a shame they split up with Rizzo. The lad was a monster.

Agreed on all of this. Even if I kinda like some jumpdaf-up Max stuff :bag I think Andreas was great with the Cavaleras, just lost anything exciting to me once Green came on board? I did like that last album of there's a bit, though? Eloy definitely was a beast and that helped.

I think the Cavalera re-recordings have actually been really good as well. As blasphemous as that usually is considered? :satan

Haha, I actually like the re-recorded version of Morbid Visions. I still remember well how, as a young lad, I bought the original album, expecting it would be just as great as Arise and Beneath The Remains. And then, full of excitement and anticipation, I popped it into the CD player...

Edit: Okay, I gotta be honest. It was actually the only album I ever stole in my life. Not proud of it. Disappointment was my punishment.

They kept the sort of lo-fi vocal approach as far as having them be pretty heavily effected (and to a lesser extent on some of the lead guitar tones). And it works in it's favor to kinda keep that old school vibe while being able to tell it's done today. I dig it \m/

Lordy. Max and Igor were made to play with one another :satan KILLER set that reminded me once again how much I LOVED Sepultura back in their heyday.

Short and sweet set that I would have liked a song or two from Arise or Beneath the Remains instead of The Hunt or Symptom of the Universe but it's cool nonetheless. Hearing Nomad and Propaganda and Clenched Fist were :love

Bonus points for seeing a bunch of oldheads from my town that I did not expect. Fear Factory was awesome as well \m/
