Floyd's OG Quadraphonic PA

turn a stadium into a surround sound environment.
When the airplane effect went across the sky at RFK, during MLOR tour, every head in that stadium looked up! It was one of the coolest things I ever saw/heard.

Of all the shows I've seen, PF was the best, in terms of sound and visuals, together. Muse was a close 2nd, but they had the advantage of coming 30 years later.

They were panning insect sounds around the stadium when I saw them, I can just imagine how much that fucked with everyone tripping balls. :rofl

I have this playing in the background right now, the video quality isn't so great but the audio is from the soundboard and this could just as easily be released as a live album without touching a thing-

Seeing Floyd for the first concert kinda messed with my perspective a bit, I remember being bummed at the G3 and STP shows I saw after that Floyd show because the light show wasn't impressive. :ROFLMAO:

I saw Floyd at Earls Court in'94, Division Bell tour. The sound was fantastic, and the whole experience just blew my mind. They played DSOTM in its entirety and must confess, I felt emotional as the first chords of Breathe rang out.

Damn. Seen a lot of great shows, but not seeing Floyd and Van Halen are my 2 biggest whiffs/failures
in concert-going. Oh, and The Operation Mindcrime Tour. I can't even recall the sorry excuse for not
going. :facepalm

I think it is cool as hell as so much of this stuff is going to go down as some of the most epic historical
artifacts of our time here on Earth.

Saw the Division Bell tour. Legendary stuff :love Only time I saw VH was iirc during OU812 and I was at the height of my contrarian angry guy thing. I sat there yelling at Hagar all night for playing 'I Can't Drive 55' and 'Where Eagles Fly' (and other assorted atrocities on man) instead of playing, you know; Van Halen songs :ROFLMAO:

I have that tour program!!! I have it sealed in a bag somewhere as my dad was the curator for a while and unfortunately, allowed it to get soaking wet several times. The only difference is that it says America Tour inside.

That must have been a treat and the PULSE dvd, regardless if you were there or not that night, surely serves as a pretty good memory!!

Was that the headset mic tour, or was that 5150 I’m thinking? Cuz I’d probably yell at the headset mic, despite being a pretty big Sammy fan. :rofl

1995 Guitar World Interview with EVH.

Very relatable.

Also goes on about shredding, Cobain, drugs, suicide, Wolfie, and why he cut his hair.

I saw The Wall show in Earl's Court in 1981, and as a young Punk thought it all a bit of a overly-theatrical wank. I preferred Siouxsie and the Banshees live.

Over the next couple of years I became a Floyd nut and thought The Wall a masterpiece and how could I have had that attuitude?!?

As an old man, I now consider it a bit of a rock-star wank again, especially the movie. As Rick Wright said about being fired for it: I dont share Roger's junvenille obsessions of war (his father), education (his mother) or madness (Syd).

I have the Pulse dvd. Great concert dvd, except for the fact that it was shot in 4:3 aspect ratio. Would have been great to have it in 16:9. 😏

Yeah, they’ve cleaned it up over the years and it’s a bummer that spectacle wasn’t captured with higher quality, but it also adds to the nostalgia I feel when watching it by bringing me right back to the 90’s.
