Two gigs and a few rehearsals into owning the Hils NX6 I'm mostly very happy with it, and it's certainly easier on the back and knees, which is my current top priority.
But.
The pickups are really insensitive to picking dynamics. My natural anti-active prejudice is assuming it's because they're active so sort-of compressed out of the gate, but I'm also wondering if pickup height might be playing into it. Having measured, they're currently set at neck 5.5mm from the low E and bridge 4.5mm - that seems quite a distance for actives, but I can't find any comprehensive or definitive guidance online for the Fluence.
Before I fiddle endlessly to do my own empirical testing, does anyone have any experience that could shortcut the process?
