Fresh strings after a long overdue swap. Especially on your beater/daily driver…

Stop tail w locking tuners

String changes take 5 mins lol. That includes a quick cleaning and stretching and tuning

I do it the day before a show, so 2-3 times a month

I love those hooker memes where's it's like: 70 bucks I'll do whatever you want and dude in car is like "change strings on my Floyd rose?"

Lol

Lol

I unusually change strings every 100 Hours or so and At the same time I polish frets if required
But I dont like the tone of fresh new strings, they need about a couple of hours of play for what i like
I'm with you on fresh strings. The worst both sound and feel, for me. Which is part of why I don't experiment too much with strings anymore. I change mine about once a year, which amounts to probably somewhere around 250 hours or so?

I think my feelings towards new strings vary depending how long I procrastinated changing them lol

I was way overdue on my vela recently, it was just sounding so dull and dead. Restrung last week and I’ve barely been able to put the thing down, night and day difference

I think this is part of what I like about pure nickel strings - they seem to have a much more consistent sound throughout their life cycle so as long as they still feel fine (which they do for me for . . . a very long time) there's not a huge difference between two day old strings and 300 day old strings.
