Fender releases a DAW, all platforms, free.

I still think there's probably more GTX DNA in the TBP than most would want to comfortably admit :bag

Again, for the cheap seats: THAT'S NOT WHAT I AM COMPARING IT TO. I never said, "hey everyone! Buy an iPad, it's better in every way to a good/decent Windows machine!"

Does that sink into your brain now?

EDIT

Disclaimer: that's from Google Translate. I don't know if it's accurate. :rofl
I think you just wished him

I can’t imagine how blowing a bunch of dev resources on a throwaway DAW instead of focusing more aggressively on developing the digital side of their hardware offerings (tonemaster amps/floor) really helps anyone that much.

I guess I’m just not seeing it. This DAW is inevitably future tech debt and abandonware.

There could be 100 times as many people who use the Fender DAW than the Tonemaster amps. Again, this isn't for middle aged gigging musicians. It's for young new players who are just learning to play music.

Like when I was 15 and bought a Tascam 4 track tape recorder. The purpose wasn't to have a professional product, it was something fun to learn on and be able to record drums myself and then record guitars on top of it to make song ideas. It was a stepping stone to getting a Roland VS-1680 which I did use to track a few albums, and then eventually to a full Cubase recording PC.

Next time I see my teen I'll ask him if he wants to get a computer someday. Heck, my wife doesn't have her own computer outside of work and does everything on an iPad Pro when she needs to (although 99% of the time she just uses her phone). The only reason I got a computer was because of audio recording and all the software that I need to run for modelers and what not, otherwise I'd probably go with a similar setup and a dock.
