My strat is gone. I disliked it. My LTD Evertune equipped EC1000ET is gone. I disliked it.

The necks.

Too thin. Toothpicky. Flat edges of the fretboards. Fretwork was a bit factory-with-no-love for both of them too, but they just felt really uncomfy.

So I'm idly wondering what guitars out there give strat sounds, with a proper chunky Les Paul neck??

This one does!

I’d partscaster it, get yourself a body with the swimming pool route so you can fuck around with different pickup configs and just grab an AllParts neck off Ebay. Seems the dude is offering different fret sizes and neck shapes now, when I got this all they had on their website were dinky vintage frets. They’re like $200.

Oh yeah. Left handed as well remember!

Left handed allparts neck, rosewood board, taller frets, 12 inch radius and gets a decent chunk to it as you slide up the neck. Oh and it's a 22 fret neck.

Do a partscaster and get Jon down at Feline to put it together.

Or if you want baseball bat neck then go for the Sro-Fat, it only comes right handed though so you'd have to go for a reverse headstock vibe.

Aerosmith's best music was when they were on drugs
Fleetwood Mac sucked before Buckingham/Nicks joined
It's a toss up btw Chris Cornell and Paul Rogers for best rock male vocalist ever
Rush's music with keys was great too
Leo Fender got real lucky building a guitar out of the cheapest parts he could find
Hendrix & Clapton are over rated
Duran Duran would've never made it big without Andy Taylor
Heart was so much better when they were an actual band, and not "The Wilson Sisters"
Scott Weiland was the best frontman a band could ever hope for
Luck plays a bigger role in most bands making it big than generally given credit for
The original song is always better than the remake

Wrong thread?

The more "vintage" you go (50's style/era) the fatter the necks are.

Of course, that may create other issues for you, though. :idk
This is the right answer. 54 and 57 Strats are chunky. The newer reissues in particular have very pronounced rolled edges that feel fantastic. At this point I won’t tough a fender that doesn’t have rolled edges.

The MIJ 50s models (ST-54, ST-57) also have a fairly chunky soft V neck but can be hit and miss on the rolled edges.

If I were looking, it would either be AVRI II or maybe K-Line.
