It's a great system and that certainly gets you started.

Maybe not missed, what Konnakol I have explored, it seems there are many variations. Probably depends on the teacher, or the school, or part of India where it's taught. For example, I've learned that 6 is takadimijuno. First time hearing takadirigina.
Also, everyone seems to mix and match what ever of those works best for them.
 
State names work, too. Michigan-Florida. Anything will really. But I suppose some will get hung up on "names"
with the magic power inherent in their verbalization. :LOL:

I really depends which part of your mouth you use, different mother tongues etc…so whatever rolls off comfy is where it’s at.
 
Huh. My drummer friend and I communicate rhythm in a similar fashion and we always felt a little silly doing that in front of "normal" people.
