Rather than continue on JT's thread...

I decided to call one of the guys at EBMM whom I'd spoken to at JP's guitar camp, and he did confirm that they're starting to build the Baritone. But it's only gonna be a small handful per week, but it will be a run of 100.

He also said it's not really a hot seller, which makes me wonder if I should wait until near the end of the run, see how they're selling, and if I should find one that's been for sale for a long time, then I could get a discount..., or go ahead and just buy the first one I see, which would definitely mean paying full price.

I need to be somewhat careful with the money part, because I want 3 more JP models- a 7-string, this Baritone, and some model of full Maple top.

This Malachite has me drooling, but not $6k worth.

That green one looks GREAT! What's the scale length? 27 on my LTD feels very natural compared to the 25.5 6 strings I normally play on in standard.

Any word if it’s going to be the same general neck shape?
Sorry, I didn't mention it's a JP15. Assuming it's the same guitar they brought to the JP camp (pic in the OP), which felt just like the other Petrucci models, I would assume the specs will be identical, just with a longer 27" scale.

I'd hope they have some this month, because they told me September at the camp. Although when I spoke to Tomas yesterday, he didn't say that they'd started building any yet, only that it's taking longer than they thought, due to the neck binding.

Thanks for the additional info.

I just looked up the specs on the JP6 Baritone they made several years ago, and apparently it's a 27.5" scale.
I thought they were 27.
