I very basically understand what DR range is, but and am still confused about its impact on guitar playing dynamics and response etc...
=> the Axe / Helix have -what I believe- are very good dynamic ranges of something in the order of ~123db give or take and to me, they both sound and feel great
But for relative-comparison purposes:-
1 => if you look at a classic, say, "industry standard" real tube amp like say an AC30 or Deluxe Reverb or Plexi - is it possible to ascribe to them a dynamic range figure that makes sense when compared to the above-mentioned DR values for these 2 modelers (?)
2 => also, does a lower DR on a modeler "mainly" have the impact of increasing the noise floor -and therefore- "crowding out" to a small degree, some of the guitar playing dynamics and response etc... (?)
For example - with my DSH Humboldt Simplifer X Analog Pedal in the Loop of my HX Stomp - when turned up and with the guitar volume rolled totally off, there is quite a bit of hiss. The exact same preset with the Loop disengaged and the HX Marshall 2203 in its place with the same volume and gain ... with the guitar volume rolled totally off, there is zero noise (?)
Yet they both sound and feel great when actually played with my guitar volume oscillating between 8 - 10 (?)
And, there is no spec in the DSM Simplifier X Manual where I can see what DR it has (?)
