I have one of these laying around that a picked up to use as a portable amp . I used it with a mesa thieli ev cab and for clean through the Frank Gambale type gain it’s actually really good. The fx are old school sounding and I am surprised it didn’t do better. The amp control is great and it’s easy to navigate on the fly once you get used to it. Opinions and experiences?

This just a clip for those unfamiliar with the unit.

If this was an amp nobody would call it limited.

My post was limited, I should have explained better. I meant in terms of the competition, they just weren't seen as good value. They were slightly cheaper than the Axe FX II and Kemper, if I remember right, but the amount of amps and FX modelled were lacking in comparison. I know they had a power section, which is definitely a plus point, but they had relatively limited amp and FX models and didn't sound as good according to some.

Core sounds for lower gain and clean are better.

Interesting. I have never tried one, I have been tempted to pick one up before but I already have too much stuff 😬.
It went under the radar for most people. They also got bogged down in the fact that is has a lot fewer models in it . But they missed the point . 30 really good amps is more than enough for anything and the fx are so much better sounding. The phase 90 actually sounds like one which is not true with the other units even now.
It’s far more like a regular amp and pedalboard in operation than the other units. It’s worth trying if you get the opportunity because it does low to medium gain really well and even some high gain tones too . People have a problem with gear evaluation and listen with their eyes and spec sheet. Why else does everyone call every Axe update a “game changer “ when in truth most are inaudible unless they are bug fixes.
