DSL100HR weird sounds

I want something reliable as I use that I’m for gigs and so far it hasn’t let me down with factory tubes. I have no idea about tubes because this is my first tube amp and its first time I’m changing it. I might buy Marshall own brand EL34 as they are pretty good so far, five years of gigging and still kicks ass.

Another option is Mesa. Mesa rebrands tubes from various manufacturers but they test them rather well.

Mullard is still my favorite EL34 though.

Marshall's own tubes are just something rebranded too. The DSL has external bias points afaik so it should be also easy to bias yourself..

I haven't had an EL34 amp for years so can't recommend anything. But I sure wish I had kept the =C= EL34s I had in a JCM2000 DSL50 back in the day.

Yeah, they’re probably either JJ or Xugang (sp?)

Yeah, I’ve heard they’re good but at $120 each, I’ll never know. 😂

Coincidentally, I just found the receipt for the SED/Svetlana =C= 6L6GC tubes I put in my Mark V 90 as I was going through old papers.

In 2007 I paid 44 € for a pair, which in todays money would be ~62 €.

Getting another pair today would cost me well over 200 €.

I used two companies in the UK to stock up on a few replacement tubes when Russia invaded the Ukraine because some were becoming hard to find.
I haven’t had to use any of them yet so a bit of an expense I didn’t need at the time but they were cheaper then so made a saving.
I have bought some small replacements for pedals from Amazon .
