All the time on my strat and LP but not very often on my tele for some reason. 50s wiring on the LP and I'm not a fan of treble bleeds either.

Sounds like the pot taper was straight log and the two volumes in series isn’t helping. It presumably works quite well with gain?This is what it looks like. It’s weird wiring. I had someone do sort of a Gretsch thing where the neck Volume/Tone work normally, but the bridge Volume/Tone are now a master Volume/Tone

Tele to get rid of the twang?On a tele, yes. Everything else, no.
I set my amps with the guitar volume on 7 and the tone rolled back to 7-8 for exactly the reasons you mentioned. It leaves me with finger tip control to go up or down on either.

Why is the default approach the default approach? Max the volume on the guitar and the gain on the amp?
It seems to limit tonality and control. Who drives 140 mph everywhere they go???![]()
