Do You Colour Your Hair/Beard?

Back in the 00's I tried out for a Casino Band where the image was VERY important.
At least 2 of the men in the Band were colouring their Hair, and I had a sneaking
suspicion the Drummer's Goatee was a little.... uhmmm.... too black.

Fast forward to today and I am watching some of the newest Dream Theater
Band videos where I am pretty confident that only Jordan is NOT colouring
his (facial) hair. Got me to thinking. Is this like a new normal where men are
increasingly like the Blue Haired Grandma's from the 1970s and are now
colouring (covering up the grey!!) the hair on their faces, and emerging
from the tops of their heads.

I have not coloured my hair. Yet.

(Probably won't. :idk)

My GF at the time and I (both with mousy dark ash blonde hair) tried that once about 28 years ago, with brown hair coloring, and we looked like goths gone horribly wrong.... 😬

Izzat Roy Orbison? That was kinda his thing, so he gets a pass....

I have shoulder length blonde hair. I have been coloring it dark, almost black for a while now.

A male friend used to have a goatee. When he started playing bass, he shaved it off.

I guess learning/ playing an instrument somehow makes us do something about our hair. Don't know how its related though.

Perhaps the musical Hair from the 60's may provide some context for rock star hairstyle.

The Beatles made as much an impression with their Mop Tops as their Vox and Rickenbacker sounds. Then hippies, then punks showing they weren't hippies by their hair, skinheads and all the rest.

I'm sure someone must have done some kind of study or two about rock-n'roll and hair.

My personal study on rock & roll hair has resulted in my looking a whole lot like Ian Hill. Present day, unfortunately. :D

(Pony tail, a gallon of hair gel, and reading glasses when I need to get on a Zoom call and look like a professional.)

I proudly wear my grayness...my beard is almost full gray, I'd say 90%. Hairs are about 70%

I never shave my beard but vary the lenght form couple of weeks long to couple of months long. I like to change from time to time.
I still have very long hairs and being nearly blonde, the gray ones look quite cool, honestly.

Yeah, no. No coloring for me. I've lost hair though! :grin
I do get grays in my beard when it grows out, and little wisps of gray up my side burns now.
My wife's the one that does all that funky stuff, with her hair and back tattoos. Me... none of that.
Is your beard like mine? ( slat and pepper on my way to become silver fox…. Meaw …. Wait thats cat…. Never mind….. lol

Mine has more gray than yours for sure, and my natural color is is not as dark either. I go back and forth on length and keep it relatively short and sometimes trim it all off.

I could tell. :rofl Right away, when she told me to stop talking because it was making my hair move. :satan

There were 2 other girls there, and the looks they gave me.... If I could've read their faces, they would've said, "WTF is up with this bitch?"

But she did a great job. And it was free. So... :idk

Haha! Classic. :rofl

Even non-bitches can see when a bitch is just being a bitch. :rollsafe

Haha! It can definitely elicit some cognitive dissonance and intense laughter. I had a friend who
is a Ginger with Red Hair convince his sister to colour his Beard and Hair a Dark Brown. He just was
tired of the genes his parents gave him. It was SO disturbing. Also, hilarious! It wasn't bad, per se,
just not him. It also freaked him out.

He ened up colouring his Hair back to Red. :bonk

Maybe I'll do it for the free laughs and odd looks.
