Back in the 00's I tried out for a Casino Band where the image was VERY important.
At least 2 of the men in the Band were colouring their Hair, and I had a sneaking
suspicion the Drummer's Goatee was a little.... uhmmm.... too black.

Fast forward to today and I am watching some of the newest Dream Theater
Band videos where I am pretty confident that only Jordan is NOT colouring
his (facial) hair. Got me to thinking. Is this like a new normal where men are
increasingly like the Blue Haired Grandma's from the 1970s and are now
colouring (covering up the grey!!) the hair on their faces, and emerging
from the tops of their heads.

I have not coloured my hair. Yet.

(Probably won't. :idk)

Being 52 I'm starting to get gray. I don't color my hair very often so I let it get salt and peppery. Usually before a vacation I get a fresh cut and color it, and my beard while I'm at it. I use a light brown color that's pretty identical to my natural color so I avoid the obvious dyed look.

Not looking like this lol:

Well, I don't really associate blue hair these days with the blue rinse of my grandma (Made popular by Jean Harlow in the non-biker movie Hell's Angels).

These days I say I have an in-grown mohawk - my beard is greyer than what's left on my skull, but my face is better covered as much growth as possible. I've thought about coloration but am basically too lazy.

I have no wish to be the bald, overweight dude with a Motorhead T-shirt (I have a few!) trying to show the young-un's what Rock is really all about.

My head hair has been all kinds of colors from green, orange, red, blue, all the way to metallic hair paint, chrome, copper and gold flake. It was the early 2000s and I was a teenager.

Lately I've tried some purple because my wife started doing it but my hair is dark brown now, whereas it was much blonder and easier to color when I was younger. Don't really care anymore as long as I still have hair!

Only recently have I started to get a few gray hairs and I kinda like it.

I started going gray in my late teens and by 40 the stuff that was gray when I was a teen was white and gray had mostly taken over. Initially I was just too lazy to keep up with dying it but after a while I came to appreciate the grays (IE- after enough women told me their thoughts on it) Most of the hair in the back is still dark brown so I’m kinda silverburst. :rofl

I did start using that touch of grey in my beard last year because it’s turned gray/white/brown and you can’t see it in certain lights which makes my overall facial hair look really jacked up, like it’s all patchy. I just regularly forget to use it and it doesn’t really do a lot to begin with. I worry any darker of a dye would be blatantly obvious and I can’t do that to myself.

I rocked the red in my teens and late 20’s, if I did it now my head would match my Gilmour Strat with the white, silver and red. :ROFLMAO:

Basically the same as @Eagle. Although I stopped coloring my beard after I whacked it back down to more neatly trimmed vs. some variation of hipster, lumberjack, duck dynasty beard (without looking all nappy).

The beard color has been fading to nearly full Santa 10 years ago, hair is still perfectly natural color- it looked weird. So I added some natural color to it so it didn't look odd. If my hair was heavily graying I would've left it alone.

Same. Between this and the off-center bald spot on the back of my head, I basically look like a burn victim.

Hair dye at this point would be like polishing the brass on the Titanic.

Yeah, no. No coloring for me. I've lost hair though! :grin
I do get grays in my beard when it grows out, and little wisps of gray up my side burns now.
My wife's the one that does all that funky stuff, with her hair and back tattoos. Me... none of that.

A new girl cut my hair a couple months ago, and complimented my hair color (S&P), and told me not to color it. And she was a friend of my sister, at my sister's house, and they had worked out a barter for some furniture, so I don't think she was looking for a tip. Come to think of it, she was kinda flirty, asking why I wasn't married...., said she'd go out with me if she wasn't married...., but I wouldn't be able to handle her cuz she was a bitch...

Oh Kay. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So I don't, and probably never will. But that video of John, back when he hadn't started coloring his hair/beard again, I literally didn't recognize him at first, he looked OLD! So in his case, I'd say it's needed.

I was blessed with great hair, and haven't lost any of it. And I'm 61, so I think it's here to stay.

Trust me, when a lady jokes about being a "Bitch!" believe her. It ain't no joke!
I could tell. :rofl Right away, when she told me to stop talking because it was making my hair move. :satan

There were 2 other girls there, and the looks they gave me.... If I could've read their faces, they would've said, "WTF is up with this bitch?"

But she did a great job. And it was free. So... :idk
