Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, YGG)

Anyone sitting around waiting for some magic Stadium Stomp to appear is gonna have a bad time.
Hope it's not the case for those waiting for some magic Stadium Native to appear.

HX Effects is probably in a similar place as Stadium Rack, given that Stomp outsells it by a significant margin. :( It wasn't a surprise or anything, but HX Stomp appears to have scratched 90% of the itch for multieffects, considering you can forego the amps and dedicate all its DSP to effects in a much smaller form factor.
Yeah, I feel it, but Stomp is just not for me

Out of curiosity, is it the form factor? Lack of scribble strips? Just knowing amps and cabs are in there, even though you don't have to use them?
Eric, it’s not you, it’s me 😉 Owning an amp modeler when I already have two amazing amps (with a third on the way), five channels between them, and a total of 15 modes… I just don’t need a modeler. It’s an internal conflict. A flexible MIDI controller to tie everything together, plus the Line 6 effects I already bond so well with, is really all I need.

Not with RAM prices the way they are. HOLY HELL things are stupid right now, like literally 5x more expensive than last year. We may have to scrap whatever handful of ideas we've discussed and start from scratch.

It's 'effin insane all around. Our company buys beefy server hardware on a regular basis, and vendors are now dragging feet on quotes requests because the expectation is prices going up +30% by early 2026.

Fuck AI.

All good. So even though the entire DSP and all 8 blocks can be used for effects only, and amps and cabs can be fully ignored, just knowing that HX Stomp is also a modeler affects your buying decision. We call this an "intangible benefit" of HX Effects, and it's totally legit. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, would the ability to completely hide amps, cabs, and IRs from the model list move the needle at all?

See, Eric, I still believe that re-imagining HX Effects would be a stronger selling point. Look at Morningstar and the MC6/MC8 Pro line — they essentially have no real competition when it comes to MIDI controllers. Now imagine HXFX staying true to what it already is, plus unparalleled MIDI switching capabilities, add a few key features, like the ability to load reverb IRs... Who else is really doing that? HXFX is what — around £400 in the UK right now? The Hotone Verbera, which I currently run in the HXFX loop, is another £300. Then, if I want the full capability of an MC8 Pro, that’s another £400. If I could get all of that functionality in a single unit for two-thirds of the total price, I wouldn’t think twice. I’m not a modeler hater — I’ve used your gear since the Bean days, all the way through the HD series. I just don’t need an amp modeler anymore. That said, it’s not a deal-breaker for me at all; I actually bought my third HXFX just two months ago after selling it a couple of times to try the next big thing. I keep coming back. I’m simply hoping for more 🙂 — said in a friendly and genuinely grateful way.

I might be wrong but, is the amount of footswitches and the scribble strips what makes you prefer HX Effects over HX Stomp? Because to me it's the only real advantage, and the reason I would prefer it.

But I much prefer the Stadium non-XL.

It’s not about the number of switches, mate. With the MC6 Pro, I can assign multiple functions to each one — single press, double press, long press, etc. I actually prefer having fewer switches, as long as I get more options per switch. With the MC6 Pro, I can stay on a single bank and still have up to 18 different pathways — all with just six switches.

What if HX Stomp (or a future HX Stomp) did that?
