And the not so dear ones!

Especially when using cast metal boxes.

Please, please, please, invest in a bag of "spring" washers, and use them on the jack sockets and controls of your pedals. Cost pennies!
I'm fed up with pots working loose then spinning inside and breaking stuff, or loose jack sockets annoyingly cutting my signal out.

Thanks,

Yeah and side mounted power ports, side mounted jacks, TRS stereo splitters, internal mode switches, unlabeled secondary parameters, and the lack of a dedicated secondary mode for one hand tweaking of secondary values!

I am no expert but a friend of a friend who builds pedals says that some toggles will also function better it such washers are used with them.

I wouldn't be surprised!
Where the component needs to make contact with the box it helps to maintain a good contact certainly.

I've sometimes used nylon washers (which do the job ok) on one side, like the type footswitchs often come with, but you do need to remember to make sure the part is still touching on the other side.
